The Portland Airport is currently building a new terminal so there is alot of construction going on.  Be watchful of work trucks on the ramp.

Downtown

Downtown Portland is very cool.  Lots of bars, restaurants and shops nearby.  Some on the water.  Lots of seafood places as well with great lobster and shrimp meals.  Some have outdoor live entertainment.   Alot of the hotels won't shuttle here because it is slightly to far away.  Its not more than 10 minutes.  If you have a car though it is worth going. 

You can walk from the airport (Its a little ways but not too bad of a walk) to an area with lots of chain restaurants and a mall.
