Airport Pireps:

Small runway (about 3500ft or so).  Noise abatement area...basically stay over the water until on final.

The ramp area is bigger than expected.  Fairly nice fbo.  Got the basics.  If nobody is there (unmanned after 6pm)  you can get in using code on door.  push 5, then 3 and 2 at same time, then press 1.  turn the lock.   There is a $29 landing fee and a $29 overnite fee every night.  They ask you to leave payment in one of their envelopes through a night slot inside building.  There is a red phone that will connect to a taxi service on island.  No paper, ice or coffee.

Beautiful place.  The interesting thing is that there are NO CARS on the island except emergency services.  Everything is done by horse and buggy.  This includes the taxi.  Downtown is about 2 miles away from airport and the horse drawn cab takes about a half hour to drive it.  I would give extra time for cab to get to you as well.

There is an RCO on the field.  You can easily pick up Green Bay FSS to get an IFR Clearance on ground.

The island is the Mackinac State Park.  There is alot of history on the island.  There is a big fort that you can visit that was built in the Revolutionary War.
