Check you airspace coming to and from.  Just north is Eggland Air Force Base.  Numerous Restricted Areas around the area with bombing ranges.  Wouldn't recommend departing VFR before picking up your IFR without thoroughly checking the area charts first.

Squadron of MI-8 Russian Helicopters are based there.  Very cool Helicopters.
